An evidence-based approach to find the right path

Hello and welcome. I’m a fully accredited BABCP psychotherapist specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and a Personal Tutor on the King’s College London PG Dip in CBT course.

Since volunteering in hospice and bereavement care in 2004, I left a communications career to dedicate my time to mental health support. I have worked in several NHS services and private practice to help people experiencing a range of problems associated with depression and anxiety over the years. Examples include: managing low mood, finding it hard to socialise without fear (social anxiety), generalised anxiety or health issues, perfectionism leading to stress and burnout, unresolved trauma symptoms, OCD, panic and phobias.

With compassion and empathy, we can develop an understanding of how problems show up in daily life, which factors from the past might be contributing, and how the way we think, act and feel come together to keep them going. The aim is to try out different ways to tackle things safely so you can leave therapy with the tools and mindset to start living the life you want.

I have acted as a supervisor in the NHS, completed specialist CBT training for adjusting to long term conditions as well as perinatal and postnatal support, and trained in Compassion Focused Therapy. I have provided individual and group CBT in person and online to overcome a broad range of difficulties. I also work with women experiencing perimenopause and menopausal symptoms. Where needed, I will integrate training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to best support a person’s unique needs whilst working within the NICE guidelines and BABCP code of ethics.

Working as a personal tutor for the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, to support trainees on the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT course, also keeps me uptodate with best practice.
